Why is it important to keep grass and weeds from growing up around my unit?

Your outdoor unit needs air to flow freely around its coils to cool compressor, keeping it running at optimal condition. REMEMBER: tell your lawn care provider to throw clippings away from your unit so not to cause premature failure.

What benefits are there to having my system serviced on a routine basis?

For one it keeps your system running at peak performance which can save you about 15% off the HVAC portion of your energy bill. And in many cases during tune up inspection we catch and prevent issues that may cause system break downs which can happen at the most inconvenient times.
Does attic insulation really play a big role in keeping my energy bills low?

YES! Attic insulation has everything to do with how well your system operates. Both keeping your energy bills low and maintaining a constant temp in your home can save you as much as 50% or greater within a given year.

How often should my system need Freon?

NEVER, your system is self contained and should never need Freon. If a company charges your unit and doesn’t perform a leak search in order to find leak and repair it. They are cheating you out of your money.
Why does my HVAC system run all day when it’s really hot? And it seems like the air isn’t that cold?

Your HVAC system is only designed to produce 20 degrees of cooling at its peak performance. This means the A/C is clean, charged, and installed correctly. (Optimal condition) So on those really hot & humid days where temps can reach 100 degrees, your system will only produce 20 degrees differential. (100 outdoor to about 78 or 80 indoor)

How often should I change my air filter?

Once a month even if it’s a pleated filter and says it’s good for 3 months. The reason for that is this kind of filter picks up 50% more dust so it should be changed more often to prevent build up causing less efficient operation.
